Our Mission

The Southeastern Color Guard Circuit (SCGC) fosters positive experiences for all who participate by promoting education, creativity, and freedom of expression through pageantry and the performing arts.

Founded in 1971 at Shoney's in Birmingham, SCGC began when Doug Noel, John Armstrong, Frank Godfrey, and Jim Gladson came together to create a consistent, credible competitive home for color guard in the Southeast—patterned after the Midwest Colorguard Circuit.

Today, SCGC is a WGI Sport of the Arts circuit partner serving scholastic and independent color guard, percussion, and winds ensembles across the Southeast—including Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee.
