2014 Scholarships

2014 Scholarships

Dear Unit Director,

With the new season upon us, the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2014 scholarship program.  We are proud to provide this great opportunity to recognize and honor performers for both their spinning and playing ability, as well as academic achievement.

Previous years have proved that the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit has many well- rounded young men and women who participate in the activity. Please help us to make sure that every student who qualifies is provided the opportunity to apply and compete to receive recognition for his/her outstanding achievements.

The regulations and guidelines are provided in this packet, as well as in the resource section on the SCGC website.  Please read through this packet carefully, there are several changes to the application process this year. An attempt has been made to make each step very clear, however, please contact me if you have any questions.

The following scholarships will be awarded for the 2014 season.

One (1) scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to the top-scoring applicant, regardless of affiliation.

One (1) scholarship of $500 will be awarded to the 2nd highest scoring applicant, regardless of affiliation.

One (1) scholarship of $250 will be awarded to the 3rd highest scoring applicant, regardless of affliation.

Five (5) individuals who are in no way affiliated with any unit who is a member of SCGC will choose the application portion of the scholarship.  These individuals will have a background in music education, color guard, and/or percussion.  The five individuals assisting us in this process will not be revealed and the decisions they make are final.

The deadline for applications is March 7, 2014. Any application postmarked or submitted after this date will be disregarded. (Please note that there are several aspects of the application this year; email, online and US postal mail.  All portions of the application must be received before or on the deadline date.)

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Best of Luck this season!
